Seeking out new boutique and antique shops to explore is always top of mind whenever I arrive in a new city. I’ve found some of the best in small towns and this list of the top 10 boutique and antique shops in Cashiers, NC delivers a few of the favorites I discovered in this sweet little mountain town.
In no particular order, I’ve rounded up a few pics and the rundown to help guide you on your shopping excursion through Cashiers, NC.
A lovely little antique store filled with some of the most darling finds, Dovetail Antiques is just as cute on the inside as it is on the outside. The owner, Sally, was a pure delight to meet and has a gift for hand curating a collection of housewares and furniture that will make any house feel like a home. One of my favorites shops in Cashiers, you’ll definitely want to drop by Dovetail Antiques.
VC for Men
A great place to stock up on stylish men’s wear, I was smitten when I walked through the doors of The Men’s Store at Victoria’s Closet. Down the drive from the sister women’s consignment store, I originally decided to pop in on behalf of the hubby to see if I could pick him up anything for fall, but I actually ended up finding the most perfect hunter green wool hat for myself. VC for Men carries a wide variety of fine men’s consignment that is great quality and it’s definitely worth popping by if you’re in the Highlands-Cashiers area.
Just as their slogan says, this quite possibly could be my new favorite boutique to stop in Cashiers. Mantiques has an eclectic collection of antiques, vintage sports collectibles, gifts, furniture, rustic home furnishings, and accessories. The name perfectly reflects the feeling of masculine charm as you walk through the old cabin doors to this rustic store tucked away in the woods.
Something Old / The Wormy Chestnut Antiques
If you love American Pickers, you’ll want to make a stop on Highway 64 East. It’s a little obscure without any fuss. In fact, when I asked the owner, Phil Monteith, for a business card, he pointed to a taped sign in the window featuring his name and phone number, 828-226-5704. You won’t find this place online and I don’t have the exact address, but the owner is authentically local and it’s right off the main road in Cashiers.

A well-known favorite in the area, The Village Hound is located just off the crossroads in the middle of Cashiers. This charming white cottage boasts a beautiful selection of blue & white china, classic furniture and housewares along with a wide selection of art featuring all things equestrian, canine, and more.
Another favorite shop featuring distinctive gifts, European antiques, and a wide variety of furniture in the perfect mountain setting on the water. Everything from hand-crafted or porch furniture to upholstered and leather furniture, Rusticks is definitely worth a stop to experience just what the name implies with a chic twist. With a super sweet staff and spot on decor, prepare to spend some time meandering through this little gem.
Summer Place Antiques
On a small hill behind a natural line of trees and shrubs, Summer Place Antiques sits tucked away with a great selection of home goods, candles, and other must-have selections. Between local finds, European treasures, and New England antiques, you’ll find a great collection of pieces at Summer Place Antiques.
Wander through each of the rooms at Basketworks and discover the eclectic pieces and unique gifts that fill this rustic two-story cabin. There’s a beautiful room filled with silk flowers perfect for dressing up the season with colorful accents.
